  • 11 Jul 2026: New: Director / Business Owner analysis. Compare take-home pay with EPF vs without EPF (directors' remuneration can be structured without EPF), and see the optimum monthly salary ceiling for every income tax bracket so you can position your salary before the next bracket jump.

Calculations use the same statutory engine as HRWork payroll: PCB per the LHDN Specification for MTD Computerized Calculation (2026), EPF per the official KWSP Third Schedule, SOCSO per the PERKESO First Category table including SKBBK (non-employment injury) coverage, and EIS per the Act 800 contribution table with the RM6,000 wage ceiling.

About the Malaysia Salary Calculator

This free salary calculator works out your monthly PCB (Potongan Cukai Bulanan / MTD), EPF (KWSP), SOCSO (PERKESO) and EIS (SIP) deductions for 2026, then shows your net take-home pay and your employer's total cost. Every figure comes from the official sources: the LHDN Specification for MTD Computerized Calculation, the KWSP Third Schedule, and the PERKESO First Category (including SKBBK) and EIS Act 800 contribution tables - the same statutory engine that powers HRWork payroll.

Business owners and company directors can also use the Director / Business Owner analysis to compare paying themselves with or without EPF, and to find the optimum monthly salary for every income tax bracket. When you are done, email yourself the full calculation as a PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is PCB (MTD) calculated in Malaysia for 2026?
PCB (Potongan Cukai Bulanan), also called MTD, follows LHDN's Specification for MTD Computerized Calculation. Your annual chargeable income is projected (after the RM9,000 individual relief, spouse and child reliefs and EPF relief capped at RM4,000), taxed on the YA2026 progressive scale and spread across the remaining months. This calculator uses the same formula.
What are the EPF contribution rates in Malaysia?
The standard employee rate is 11% of monthly wages, with optional rates of 13%, 9%, 7% or 5.5%. Employers contribute 13% for wages up to RM5,000 and 12% above that. Amounts follow the official KWSP Third Schedule.
What is SOCSO SKBBK (Lindung 24 Jam)?
SKBBK is PERKESO's non-employment injury scheme included in the First Category contribution table. With SKBBK the employee share is 1.25% of the wage bracket; without it, 0.5%. It is optional and this calculator lets you toggle it.
How much EIS is deducted from my salary?
EIS (SIP) is 0.2% each from the employee and the employer, on monthly wages up to the RM6,000 ceiling, per the Act 800 contribution table. The maximum is RM11.90 per side.
What are Malaysia's income tax brackets for 2026?
Resident rates for YA2026 range from 0% on the first RM5,000 of chargeable income up to 30% above RM2,000,000, with steps at 1%, 3%, 6%, 11%, 19%, 25%, 26% and 28%. Non-residents are taxed at a flat 30%.
Can a company director skip EPF to take home more?
Directors paying themselves from their own company can structure remuneration without EPF. Take-home pay rises by the EPF amount minus a small PCB increase (the EPF tax relief is lost), and the company saves the employer share. The Director / Business Owner section of this calculator compares both structures and shows the optimum salary for each tax bracket.
Is this salary calculator free?
Yes. The HRWork salary calculator is free, needs no sign-up, and can email you a PDF of the full calculation. If you like how it works, try HRWork payroll for your whole team.

Calculations use the official EPF Third Schedule, the PERKESO SOCSO (First Category, including SKBBK) and EIS Act 800 contribution tables, and the LHDN Specification for MTD Computerized Calculation - the same statutory engine that powers HRWork payroll. Results are estimates for a steady full year and exclude individual TP1 reliefs, zakat and mid-year changes. Always refer to LHDN, KWSP and PERKESO for official figures.
